THE WILLIAMS'

Brandon & Valsharee

We got married one week before COVID hit took close to home, then mom moved in after being diagnosed with stage three cancer. Our marriage has been other people first while trying to raise our blended family. God has allowed us to slow down and He has given us Grace to RESET and I’m grateful. God will do amazing things in and with us. We are doing the REAL work in ourselves. We will see and experience the fruit! I absolutely love you Zawadi!

Happy Vday! 3/1/2020

Words Of Wisdom

Marriage has different seasons (they come and go) but it’s important not to make a negative lifelong decision during tough times(an unfavorable season)

God can Restore!

THE WILLIAMS'

Donnell & Victoria

We are Donnell and Victoria Williams. We met in 2012, began dating in 2013, and got married in 2016. We don't have the "perfect" love story, but what we have is ours - a unique testament of what God can do, and an raw example of what perseverance, determination, and most importantly, prayer, will provide.

We push each other to elevate and pride ourselves on being examples of success for our children. We have a blended family which includes 5 children - ages 26 down to 6. (Continue to pray for us LOL.) Our home is filled with love, laughter, jokes, and many inside stories that only we truly understand.

As a couple, we’re a team...always laughing, always learning, and always there for one another. Every day, we choose to grow, support each other’s dreams, and face challenges TOGETHER. We know the secret to a happy marriage isn’t perfection...it’s patience, respect, making time to enjoy the little things, and the inclusion of God. Whether we’re traveling to new places or just hanging out at home, we are intentional in making time for one another and making the most of every moment together. We’re not just a married couple - we’re best friends, partners, and a couple who knows how to have fun no matter what life throws our way.

12 Years Together

Words Of Wisdom

Marriage is about partnership, growth, and constant communication. It's about compromise and being there for each other, even when times are tough. It’s not about being perfect, but about growing together, learning from mistakes, and finding ways to support and love each other through it all - something that you show through your actions every day.

THE OUTTERBRIDGES

Keith & Lysette

Married since May 28, 2011

Keith and Lysette Outterbridge's love story:

Came into contact in 2009 at a Christian cafe where we both had mutual friends. Both were ending long term relationships. Approaching our late twenties, our mindsets changed. No more of the on again off again. We were intentional. Our prayer was clear cut the entire time. With this prayer you must be be prepared to be prepared, to mature and walk away from some friends. We must prepare to stand united and receive wonderful blessings. We have still remained united during health/job challenges. As long as you're united with God at the center, all unimportant things fall by the way side. Love remains key and we have built a home of peace and a strong family.

Words Of Wisdom

Kindness goes a long way. Don’t think of what you can get out of it but more so what you put into it. Your spouse is not the enemy, but the enemy wants you to believe that. Always check your words with the holy spirit. Grow together.

THE OUTTERBRIDGES

Donald & Rachel

I remember seeing Donald Outterbridge Sr. for the first time at The Center (we were 13). He was a member of Mt. Zion where Elder Hayes was the Pastor. I didn’t particularly like him – he was silly and a little annoying to me. My father, who was EPA District YPHA President, saw the leader in him and got him involved in the district. He was always with us, so much so that many people thought he was my brother.

We began working together in the district and at Lyons Memorial Temple’s Bible Club with Elder Edward Harris and became good friends.  I was attracted to his commitment to God and that he was a bit crazy and always found the funny in everything. Working together for the Kingdom was what we did well.  We got married on June 23, 1973 at the age of 20 (yes, we were babies).

Elder Harris appointed him Pastor in 1974 after the birth of our first gift, Donny. Then came Deanna and then Keith - what gifts! After marrying the 3 of them off, Bethany, Danielle, Michael, Keith and Christian are the special gifts that we both got to enjoy!!

Thank God for the time we had together – “treasures in jars of clay” living life and enjoying each other. Proverbs 18:16 says a man’s gifts “makes room for him, and brought him before great men.”  And so I was blessed to experience many occasions traveling with Donald Outterbridge using his God-given gifts.  I miss him a lot but he is with the Lord.

Donald and his "First Wife" Rachel

THE KEAS

Michael & Deanna

It was an arranged marriage by her father, but really by OUR FATHER...

OK so to clarify, Deanna's father (Donald) met Michael while in church and insisted that he meet his lovely daughter. Two years later the couple were happily married. This union produced two bundles of Joy: Bethany Lynn, a full-of-life person who cares for everyone, and Michael John Alexander, a creative and talented soul, both of whom are probably reading this right now.

Words Of Wisdom

Satan hates marriages because he hates covenant. Marriages remain fruitful and healthy when we recognize, arrest, and move beyond his attacks. That's the work successful couples continually do!

THE TUCKERS

Michael & Denise

Michael and Denise met while attending George Brooks Elementary School. She first noticed him while she waited at the corner for the light to change on her way home for lunch one day. He was a safety. Even though he didn’t know she existed, she walked one block out of her way every day just so she could get a glimpse of him. He was in sixth grade. She was in fourth.  Michael graduated and went to Shoemaker Junior High and Denise went to Tilden Middle School.  Denise and her cousin Lajoyce were in the laundromat at 59th and Girard one afternoon when Michael walked in. Joyce called him over and asked,

“Do you have a girlfriend?”

He responded, “No.”

She replied, "Good. Let me introduce you to my little cousin, Denise. Now you have a girlfriend. Sit down here with us and talk and then walk her home. She lives right up the street.”  From that point on, Tuck and DJ were always part of each other's lives. Though their lives traveled different trajectories, they never lost touch. He became a truck driver. She went away to college and joined the military. Both married and raised families but always remained friends. Life happened, and once they found themselves alone after their children were grown, they came to the realization that they were soulmates. They married and are now living their best life.
